Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are you located? Are you a dental clinic or a laboratory? What services do you offer?

GPS INTERNATIONAL’ is a registered and trusted brand specialized in the manufacture of dental prosthetics and offering therapeutic and cosmetic services. We have a wide network of partners from certified dentists in various specialties, located in different clinics across the Gulf Region and Globally to meet your needs wherever you are.

  • What is the timeframe for manufacturing dental prosthesis at ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’?

‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ requires 85 to 119 working hours for each prosthetic restoration, depending on the case and the number of teeth. The production process involves a hybrid system combining manual work by expert technicians, highly qualified designers, with advanced machines such as Dental Milling Robots, 3D Printing Machines, and high temperature ovens using the highest quality and finest materials in dentistry.

  • Do you manufacture prosthetics without tooth preparation?

According to international studies and researches done by the Research and Development Department in ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’, we do not manufacture prosthetics without tooth preparation for the following reasons:

A- Veneers manufactured without tooth preparation may not fit properly due to lack of stability and mechanical support on the edges prepared by the dentist.

B- From the Technical perspective, without tooth preparation the Veneers would be of very thin thickness, and this will negatively affect two important points:

First: To achieve the natural lively appearance and achieve transparency of the restorations, multiple layers of porcelain must be applied using the Layering Technique, and this is not possibly achieved with very small thicknesses.

-Second: When reducing the thickness of the restorations, it will negatively affect their strength and hardness, and it is possible for the veneers strength to reach (100-200 MPa or even much less), which is a weak strength.

    NOTE:

The normal strength of veneers is from 350 to 500 MPa.

The normal strength of zircon restorations is from 900 to 1200 MPa.

The strength of each depends on the thickness of the restoration.

The most important thing is that GPS INTERNATIONAL is capable of manufacturing restorations of all thicknesses, but the health and the trust of our customers is our highest priority.

  • Do your restorations have an odor or do they cause an odor?

Dental prosthetics may cause a foul odor if not manufactured correctly. The reason for this is the lack of precision in manufacturing, leading to the accumulation of food particles between teeth or in the edges, resulting in decay and an unpleasant odor. To avoid this issue, ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL” follows crucial procedures including:

1- Designing the dental prosthetics at ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ in a way that relies on their natural design to help in instinctive cleaning which is achieved by reshaping them to be capable of instinctively eliminating food residues. The prosthetics are also manufactured with a secure closure, ensuring there are no gaps between the teeth or between the prosthetics and the prepared teeth. This point is considered one of the crucial aspects focused on in quality control at ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’

2- The dentist’s competence. The competency of the dentist is very important, therefore, ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ is precise in selecting certified dentists with high expertise and distinctive academic qualification.

  • Do your restorations change color over time or are they affected by stains?

‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ always strives to manufacture high-quality restorations. Quality control is maintained throughout 19 production departments with 35 quality control points, ensuring that the product meets the company’s highest quality standards.

To prevent color changes, ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ follows crucial procedures, including:

1- Using the internal construction method for adding multiple layers of ceramic (Layering Technique) which results in the color of the restoration or the transparency and color effects will not be effected over time as they are part of the internal structure of the restoration.

2- During the final stages of manufacturing, ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ works on polishing and finishing the surfaces of the prosthetics using the “HEAT GLAZING” technique. Special ovens are used that prevent the entry of air. This ensures there are no microscopic pores that would allow external stains or liquids to penetrate the internal structure of the prosthesis, making the tooth surface effectively sealed off from the external environment.

As for the external stains that may form on the surfaces of natural teeth or prosthetics, influenced by foods, beverages such as coffee and tea, colored foods, and smoking. The prosthetics are similar to the natural teeth in that they also require regular daily care, brushing and flossing of prosthetics and adherence to regular dental check-ups. All these are essential to maintain clean prosthetics free from external discoloration.

  • What are the factors that affect the health of the gums after placing the restorations?

The health of the gums after restoration installation depends on the following aspects:

1- Clinical factors: The proficiency of the dentist in treating the gums in the correct academic manner, whether in dealing with gum inflammation or in cosmetic gum contouring. The dentist must consider the level of tooth preparation according to the gums and prepare the teeth to receive healthy prosthetics. ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ is precise in selecting the certified dentists to ensure the quality of the clinical aspect.

2- Technical factors: ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ plays a vital role in the health and safety of the gums, starting from the design phase to the manufacture of the dental restorations which must address the healthy relationship between the restoration and the gums. This involves closing adjacent gaps between the prosthetics to prevent the formation of black triangle-shaped spaces that allow food accumulation, leading to inflammation and unpleasant odors. Additionally, the manufacturing process ensures that the restoration does not allow food accumulation underneath it in the area of missing teeth. In addition to other points that align with the commitment of ‘GPS INTERNATIONAL’ to quality at every stage of production, ensuring compliance with high academic and technical specifications.

  • What are the prices of your products?
